The Centre's "raison d'ĂȘtre " was and remains to favour sharing of knowledge and competencies on First Aid in Europe.

From 1996 to 2002, the Centre was managed by the Belgian Red Cross - Flemish community. Since January 2003, this mission has been entrusted to the French Red Cross.
